Excalibur Education Foundation

The Excalibur Educational Foundation is the educational arm of the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents and the Alabama Young Agents Committee. The Board of Directors is composed of members of the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents, Eminent scholars or insurance chairs from our major universities, members of the Young Agents Committee, and other industry related vocations.

The Excalibur Education Foundation was established to provide scholarships to students considering a career in the risk management and insurance industry. To date, 34 scholarships have been awarded. Established by the Young Agents Committee, Excalibur has raised more than $150,000 in funds.

An Excalibur Clay Shoot is organized annually at Selwood Farm to help raise funds for this great case! Rain or Shine...everyone always has a blast!

Excalibur Application Criteria

The purpose of the Excalibur Education Foundation scholarship is to provide a scholarship for a rising senior in an Alabama college or university who has chosen to pursue a career in the insurance field.  The ideal candidate will be a student who needs the scholarship to continue their education and has demonstrated their ability for academic success.  While academic excellence is desired, financial need is more important to the Excalibur Education Foundation. The applicant is to apply for this scholarship no later than April 30, 2018, to be considered for the scholarship.  The scholarship is awarded for the academic year beginning in the fall and ending in the spring and paid directly to the college or university. The scholarship winner is invited to attend our Young Agents Conference that is held at the Hilton Pensacola. The 2020 Young Agents Conference is set for July 30 - August 1.

Scholarship requirements:

Rising senior in an Alabama college or university (Class:  Junior or above)
GPA of 2.5 or better on 4.0 scale
Major (Risk Management or Insurance)
Two letters of reference to accompany the application
