RECAP - On February 22, Agents and Company Representatives gathered in Montgomery for our annual legislative conference. The room was packed and eager to hear the Gubernatorial Candidates.
Governor Kay Ivey opened the conference with a full update. House Representative Danny Garrett was presented with the prestigious Lawmaker of the Year Award. Next, Tommy Battle, Sue Bell Cobb, Chris Countryman, Scott Dawson and Walt Maddox took the stage. Each candidate had 10 minutes to address the crowd on their views if they are chosen for governor. EVP Bill Sager introduced three more candidates who were running for other offices that attended our conference. Christy Edwards who is running for Court of Civil Appeals. Joy Johns who is running for House Seat, District 81 and Alice Martin who is running for Attorney General. At the conclusion of the conference, agents were encouraged to stop by the State House to make contact with their senators, representatives and watch the legislative session from the gallery. What an experience to see!!! We ended the day with a great lunch at the RSA plaza.
We would like to thank our First STEP Sponsors and the Young Agents for hosting this great event!!
